Canada Customs amend Time Frames for Release of Goods
Canada Customs informed Customs brokers on 30th of April of the amendment to the time frames in which they are planning to release goods.
As soon as the changes are implemented, Customs brokers will only be notified of the release of goods once the carrier has arrived them. This is a drastic amend to the present procedure for the release in the air and marine modes of transport. Time frames for when an RMD to be filed for air and marine shipments are also to be corrected.
Canada Customs have expressed an interest in comments from Customs brokers, who will be affected by the changes. Comments are to be submitted till May 12th.
